Where it all began
Hello Zohara family!
We can’t quite believe April is upon us and 2019 is in full swing, we have many exciting projects coming up this year and to start these projects, we’ve launched our new blog!
This is going to be the go-to place to get your staple styles, behind the scenes footage from shoots or events, chats with bloggers and just somewhere for us to give you a little something extra with your Zohara experience.
But for now, we’re going to throw it way back to where it all began…
Whether you’ve been an avid follower of the brand for years now or you’re just delving into your first purchase with us, we want to take you through the evolution of the brand and where it all started.
We’ll start at 2016. This is the starting point where the brand was launched and the Zohara family was established. It was born from the struggle to find a high quality, real leather handbag at an affordable price. To us, this didn’t already exist on the market and felt it was more of a need than a want.
These bags are designed for everyone in mind, the boss lady, the student, the mum and everyone in-between. They are for the fashion-forward individual as well as the practical parent who wants a bag to carry through the seasons and the years.
We wanted to ensure the bags were made with the highest quality leather and finished to an extremely high standard with fantastic interior organisation, while also being priced affordably.
With bag designs and materials selected, our colour palette was inspired by our incredible location, the North Coast of Northern Ireland. From rich blues and navys taken from the breath taking Atlantic Ocean to warm stony tans, creams and grays - we are very lucky to have such a fantastic inspiration on our doorstep. We also wanted to add a collectible feature to our bags with our leather tassels. Each collection has its own signature colour.
With an amazing 3 years of the brand and 6 collections, we are constantly innovating, refreshing and remodeling our designs to suit you and your bag wants and needs.
The Causeway Collection- AW ’16
A visit to the Giants Causeway stirs up many emotions. The sheer breath taking beauty of the coastline combined with the mystery and fables of this unique and diverse location inspired a collection with bold shapes, earthy colours and creative textures. Not to forget its iconic red tassel.
The Ballintoy Collection- SS ’17
Ballintoy is a hidden gem of the North Coast of Northern Ireland with its beautiful coastal views and stunning harbour. As you wind down the little road to its destination, you are never quite prepared enough for the view that awaits you around the corner. The classic shapes, bright coastal colours and yellow tassel are inspired directly from this little wonder of the world.
The Glenarm Collection- AW ‘17
The beautifully picturesque little village in Country Antrim along the Causeway Coastal Route. This quaint place captures everyones interest with its Georgian style streets, rich heritage and breath taking landscape. With colours inspired by the rich tones and hues found on the breath-taking coastline through to the depths of Glenarm forest. It captured our imagination for this collection with the deeper, richer tones of burgundy, navy and grieve and the collectable dark green tassel.
The Rathlin Collection- SS ‘18
Inspired by the picturesque Island of Rathlin, found off the coast of Ballycastle. This rugged landscape will let your mind wonder and help you discover tranquility and beauty that is so unexpected. This collection features handcrafted handbags from pebble and saffiano leather in misty greys and soft sea blues, alongside gorgeous trans-seasonal hues with its iconic blue tassel.
This beautiful collection was inspired by Slieve Donard, Northern Ireland’s highest mountain which overlooks the Irish Sea in County Down. This collection features autumnal colours evoking the feeling of leaf coated forest floors, rich red winter berries, wild mountain heather and dark crisp twilights. This collection has an iconic navy tassel to compliment the dark autumnal colours.
